    2025 Finest Award Winners

  • SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 16, 2025 – The Health Care Communicators of Southern California (HCCSC) Finest Awards were announced this afternoon recognizing excellence in marketing and communication in health care. Nominations were received from organizations throughout San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

    Gold, silver and bronze awards were distributed in 38 categories, including public relations, digital marketing, writing, collateral, and special events. Winners were announced by Master of Ceremony ABC7 Los Angeles Health Reporter Denise Dador, and included:

          • Maricich Health (17)
          • AMN Healthcare (11)
          • Loma Linda University (13)
          • CalOptima Health (10)
          • City of Hope Orange County (10)
          • Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego (10)
          • UC San Diego Health (10)
          • Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties (5)
          • Scripps Health (5)
      The Finest Awards top sponsors included Diamond Sponsors AMN Healthcare and Freshpaint and Gold Sponsor City of Hope. Best of Show awards went to Loma Linda University, Maricich Health, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, achieving the highest overall scores among all entries.

      Also announced were the two HCCSC/AMN Healthcare Scholarship winners, University of Southern California student Linh Truong and University of California, San Diego student Rene Pena who both received $3,000 scholarship checks from AMN Healthcare.

      The Communicator of the Year Award went to Lisa O’Neill Hill, Director of External Communications at City of Hope Orange County. She’s played a pivotal role in City of Hope’s $1.5 billion expansion into the region — helping bring world-class cancer care to more people, closer to home. When she saw a troubling rise in cancer among younger adults, Lisa launched “The Younger Face of Cancer”—a bold, data-driven initiative that became the most successful media campaign in City of Hope OC’s history. She also introduced the now-iconic “pink coat” campaign, which earned praise across the region and spotlighted lifesaving screening updates.
